- Schedule: Monday is a
travel day and we start at 8:00am on Tuesday morning. The
last Friday is also a travel day. On Monday of the second
week of the Refresher Course and the fifth week of the Initial
Course, training will be conducted in simulators at the Long
Beach, CA airport. Please plan to make appropriate transportation/lodging
arrangements.
- What to Bring: You might
want to bring any flying gear that you would like to use (flight
suits, boots, gloves, kneeboards), although none of these
items are mandatory for the aircraft in the syllabus. A helmet
is not required for any of the syllabus flights. No books
or publications are required since we provide all of these.
Although not required, many find that a laptop is useful,
especially for the Initial Course.
- Where to go: NTPS
is the last building on the east end of the flightline at
the Mojave airport, 1030 Flightline St., Bldg 72. Map
Sign in with the receptionist and she will direct you to the
classroom. Please bring passport or a copy of birth
certificate.
- Where to Stay: Lancaster
is a good-sized town 30 minutes from Mojave with plenty of
shopping, restaurants, movie theaters, etc. The Park
Plaza and the Antelope
Valley Inn are two Lancaster hotels often used by FAA
students. Tehachapi is a smaller mountain town 25 minutes
to an hour away from Mojave without all the amenities of Lancaster
but it does boast a nice climate and some resort type facilities
(movie theater and restaurants). Sierra
Ridge Apartments in Tehachapi is a good deal for stays
longer than a month. More
lodging info.
- Phones: Your phone number
while you are here will be (661) 824-2977. Fax is (661)
824-2943. Email address is ntps@ntps.edu.
