Flight
test and evaluation is a specialized sub-discipline of aeronautics
where people plan, organize conduct, manage, and evaluate
experimental and developmental aircraft and aircraft systems. As
such, it is a broad discipline including the application of basic
science and engineering, technical management, and organizational
principles. This program of education provides the student with
the basic skills necessary to immediately become a member of a
flight test team.

of Science in Flight Test and Evaluation
Requirements:
The
Master of Science in Flight Test and Evaluation degree is awarded
upon successful completion of a prescribed course of study
consisting of a core curriculum of 18 units (including a thesis),
and one of two tracks for a minimum total of 48 credits.
Prerequisites
The
prerequisites for enrollment in the Master of Science in Flight
Test and Evaluation are a Baccalaureate degree in engineering,
physical or computer science, mathematics, or technical management
from an accredited institution. Students presenting other
credentials will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis.
Transfer
Credit
Up
to 9-Quarter (6 semester) units of transfer and advanced standing
credit may be applied toward the Master of Science degree.
Curriculum:
Those
students enrolled in the National Flight Test Institute have a
choice of two tracks, in addition to a common core curriculum. The
requirement to "cross-train" and take courses from the
opposite track adds breadth to the students background.
